Our impact

An impact that grows

A visit can become a personal connection to a greener Madinah. Discover what the initiative aims to achieve and how documented information gives that ambition context.

Landscape imagery illustrates the initiative’s vision; it is not evidence of a completed planting site.

More than a tree in the ground

The initiative brings environmental, community and visitor goals into one experience.

  • Greener places

Support the ambition to grow vegetation cover through community greening, Ajwa palm farms and green public spaces.

  • People who participate

Bring visitors, families and organisations into a shared experience that encourages environmental awareness.

  • A meaningful visit

Connect the experience of visiting Madinah with hands-on participation and a story people can remember.

The ambition

One million trees. A goal to work towards.

One million trees is the initiative’s stated target. It is not a count of trees already planted. The live planting figures below count approved planting records; reported outcomes belong in published updates with their reporting context.

A target describes direction. A result needs evidence.

From the planting records

Live planting figures

These figures come from approved planting records and change as records are approved or trees are replaced. Locations are planting sites, not individual trees.

From participation to useful evidence

The initiative model includes documentation and reporting. These stages explain the information to look for as services and updates become available.

  1. Prepare the programme

A suitable site, planting approach and responsibilities give the activity its context.

  2. Take part

Participation connects the visitor or supporting organisation to the programme that was carried out.

  3. Record the experience

Dates, programme details, photographs and location where available help describe what happened.

  4. Follow and report

Published updates can explain subsequent care, observations and outcomes within a stated reporting period.

Read the story behind a number

Meaningful reporting explains what a figure represents, when it was recorded and where its information comes from.

  • Activity and outcome

A planting count describes an activity. Growth, survival and site conditions need their own follow-up information.

  • Period and scope

Look for the programme, location when available, date and reporting period before comparing results.

  • Evidence and limitations

Photographs and records give context. Estimates should identify their assumptions; missing information should remain visible.

Published information

Updates from the initiative

Approved published sections appear here when available. Measured environmental results are not shown on this page; the live figures above count approved planting records only.

A clear understanding of impact

Does one million mean one million trees have been planted?

No. It is the initiative’s ambition. Actual results must be supported by published information.

Does participation earn carbon credits?

No. This website does not calculate or issue carbon credits from participation. A tree and its certificate document a planting; neither is environmental accreditation.

Can I receive a digital certificate now?

Yes. After your planting is approved, our team issues its digital certificate, which then appears in your account. Anyone can verify it with its code. The homepage certificate is an illustrative example.
